Come spend the day virtually with Matt Halpern the "Happy Rainbow" presenter! This years ROE #3 and ROE #41 Kindergarten/1st Grade Conference will look differently but will still provide the same high quality resources as usual. The conference will be held virtually on July 27, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The cost to attend is $100/participant and each participant will receive 4.5 PD hours upon completion of the training.

8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Empower you Students with Interactive Writing - Interactive Writing is one of the most powerful tools teachers have to lift the level of writing in Kindergarten/1st grade classrooms. Matt will help demystify this practice and give you tips and tools to make it a part of your regular practice across all areas of your day. You'll see interactive writing in action, see examples from real classroom, and learn how to have fun while engaging and empowering your students towards writing independence.

10:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Student-Driven Goal Setting in Reading & Writing - Involve your students in setting and re-visiting reading goals that keep them focused and propel them toward benchmarks. Their buy-in and engagement will skyrocket! Matt outlines simple ways to keep your goals and your students' visible and demonstrates different tools that will help them persist in reading improvement and succeed.

12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Tips and Tools for Building Relationships with Students - Building relationships with students isn't simply a way to make our jobs as teachers more rewarding and fun. Teacher-student relationships are one of the biggest indicators of academic success. Matt's ideas and activities for building and deepening relationships with students are straight from his classroom. They are engaging. They empower children to be their best. And, they'll bring joy to any classroom - including yours!
