ISBE Assessment Department

Join the Assessment Department for a new and interactive professional learning
workshop designed to delve into the purpose and intended applications of the IAR. This
professional learning opportunity is tailored to support district and school teams as they
unpack their spring 2023 ELA/L and mathematics IAR results to inform current
instructional practices, inform effective instructional activities, and offer insights into the
resources available to help support interpretation.

This is a hand-on workshop, crafted to help educators identify patterns and trends in
student achievement, reflect on instructional practices, and translate those insights into
actionable classroom activities. A suggested protocol for unpacking IAR results will be
shared. Teams are encouraged to bring the last two years of district- and/or school-level
IAR reports so that they can be supported through the unpacking process.
 

ISBE Standards and Instruction Department

Standards and Instruction team members will provide an update on the Illinois Literacy
Plan draft, accelerated placement, driver education learning standards, and standards-
aligned professional development opportunities.
