This training will provide a basic understanding to paraprofessionals on how trauma alters the brain and impacts learning in the school setting. Many strategies will be shared to help support these struggling students. As a paraprofessional you work with students in a variety of settings from the playground to the classroom and on the school bus. When you have a deeper understanding of their adverse experiences you can help these students advance their academic achievement. This training will be held on August 11, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the ROE #3 Professional Development Center in Vandalia, IL. The cost to attend this training is $50/participant and breakfast will be provided. Each participant will receive 3.0 PD hour upon completion of the training.
