Job Title: Grade School Teacher

Responsibilities:

May include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. 2. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and are able to communicate these objectives to students. 3. Plans a program of study, employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. 4. Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication/organizational skills, and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers, as specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. 5. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and academics. 6. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, keeps appropriate, complete, and accurate records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations, and prepares progress reports. 7. Assists in diagnosing the learning disabilities of students, with the assistance of district specialists. 8. Provide for safe storage and proper use of materials, equipment, and tools to prevent loss or abuse. Make minor adjustments and requests repairs to equipment as required. 9. Select and request books, instructional aids, equipment, chemicals, glassware, and supplies, and maintain inventory records as required. 10. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. 11. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules. 12. Perform all other duties reasonably related to position as may be assigned by Building Administrator or Superintendent.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate Illinois Teacher License • Ability to enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions • Strong organizational and communication skills • The ability to work independently of direct supervision • The ability to work positively with students and their parents
